October
By this point I would
like to have clarified my research question and structured my chapters with my
personal tutor. Academic support should also be organised by this point.
Early November
This tutorial should
focus on a discussion of a draft of at least one chapter of the Dissertation.
Particular focus should be given to Harvard referencing, critical analysis, triangulation,
and use of sources.
Mid November
Coming in to November
I would of liked to have completed a chapter and discussed the content with my
main tutor and my academic support tutor. At this point I would also like to
discuss what practical elements I should be considering.
Late November
Students should aim
to have roughly 3-4000 words written at this stage, or two chapters completed
to a good standard. These chapters should evidence a clear critical argument,
informed by a variety of academic sources. They should also include clear
chapter introductions and conclusions. This tutorial is a good opportunity to
discuss progress made against the project timeline agreed in Tutorial 1 and, if
insufficient progress has been made agree a plan to get the project back on
track. Nov 19
Early December
During this third
tutorial I would like to have at least 4000 words and have all my sources and
quotes ready to start writing the remaining 4000, discussions with both tutors
will help focus critical argument. I would also like to check progress against
this timeline to see if a revised plan is necessary.
After Christmas
During the final
tutorial I would like general feedback from tutors with specific focus on
formatting.
