Research
This was a brief I set myself, everyone has personal interests and everyone picks up new skills, the brief here aims to teach people a skill acquired by personal interest. From personal interests there were many things that this brief could of taught. Memory was the most interesting to me though so this project aims to teach people memory techniques I have learnt from various books from famous memory experts such as Derren Brown and Dominic O'Brien.
This is the book that I have read about memory O'Brien effectively walks readers through all his memory techniques and teaches his system of remembering numbers the "Dominic System".
The basic principal of what I'm trying to teach is the translation of numbers into more memorable objects. The Dominic System (named after Dominic O'Brien) translates numbers into people.
Visual research was done on publications that looked intriguging, this is because the viewer would have to want to initially look at the book to gain the information.
The size of this book is something that really inspired this project. The size and use of materials makes the book more of an experience this is vitally important to memory as new experiences are more memorable than repeat experiences.

Creating a grid for optimal readability.
Final ideas
Here you can see the finished book. The execution and use of materials is unorthodox to create a unique experience and make the book about memory more memorable.
There is also space in the book for readers to create there own Dominic system which again relates back to new experiences interaction and optimal memorability.
The use of all capital letters reduces readability however due to readers having to spend more time reading comprehension of the new topic is increased. The off white colour of the stock increases readability as the contrast of black on white is softened.
Evaluation
This brief was set by myself and its aim was to effectively attract readers and teach them something. The subject of memory was chosen and most design decisions were based off the idea that things become more memorable if they are a new experiences this is knowledge that was found in Dominic O'Brien's "Learn to Remember". This Justified the book being made out of untraditional materials and using all capital letters. Overall the book met all the requirements that I set out myself and in my opinion is a very memorable piece of work.
